The volume of production of Krasnodar oysters and mussels has almost doubled in a year
18th of Febuary. /MEDIA TALK/. In 2024, Kuban produced 47% fewer oysters and mussels than a year earlier. This is due to severe storms in the Black Sea in 2023.

Last year, Krasnodar Region produced 180 tons of mussels and oysters. In 2023, the region received 370 tons of seafood in this category.

Due to strong waves, oyster and mussel collectors were damaged, so the volume of seafood received decreased. The Ministry of Agriculture of the Krasnodar Territory reported that mariculture farms in the Anapa and Gelendzhik areas were destroyed by storms by almost 90%. It takes about two years to restore the farm, Kommersant reports.

It should be recalled that a support hotline has started operating for Kuban enterprises in the emergency zone.
