The tourist flow to St. Petersburg in 2024 reached 11.6 million people, which is 23% more than last year. The guests of the Northern Capital brought 730.5 billion rubles to the city's economy, 51% more than in 2023.
According to Governor Alexander Beglov, measures to support the tourism industry have helped restore the flow of guests, which has decreased since the beginning of the pandemic. The tourism sector is linked to the income of 50 sectors of the economy. Every 12th workplace in St. Petersburg depends on it.

One guest of the city spends an average of 56,000 rubles per visit. Residents of the CIS countries leave an average of 77,000 rubles, while tourists from abroad spend about 122,000 rubles.
About 20% of expenses are transportation and meals, another 17% is spent on accommodation. The purchase of various goods takes up 13% of the trip budget, and approximately 8% of the funds are spent on visiting museums and theaters.
The increase in the tourist flow is due to the information campaign "Welcome to St. Petersburg!". She inspires residents of Russia and other countries to come to the Northern Capital, the press service of the Administration of St. Petersburg said.
A ferry service has been opened from the Leningrad Region to a new port near Kaliningrad.
