Of the 543 recorded cases, 70 drivers were fined for using dirty registration plates, 350 for intentionally hiding license plates, and another 120 for other violations, including the use of special devices that interfere with license plate recognition.
As emphasized in the Ministry of Transport, if earlier drivers were threatened with a fine of 5,000 rubles or deprivation of the right to drive a vehicle for a period of 1 to 3 months for concealing or intentionally changing the license plate number, now, in case of repeated violation, the term of imprisonment is from 1 to 1.5 years. In addition, an additional article was introduced on the punishment for installing special removable numbered fasteners (frames) on the car. The use of such devices is punishable by deprivation of a driver's license for a period of 1 to 1.5 years. Changes in the size of fines for violations on the road came into force on January 1.
