According to the publishing house Eksmo-AST, offline format accounts for about 40% of book sales, second only to online sites (50%). At the same time, today the price difference on marketplaces and in bookstores can reach 40%.

As Oleg Novikov, the co-owner of Eksmo-AST, noted in an interview with the newspaper, such competition over the past 2 years has led to the closure of almost 86 bookstores, and prices for book products have increased by 7.9% since the beginning of 2024.
As we recently wrote, 6 out of 10 Russians regularly use marketplaces at least once a month.
