A set for cooking borscht has become more expensive in Russia
November 1st. /MEDIA TALK/. On Friday, November 1, it became known that for the period from January to September 2024, a set of products for cooking borscht has risen in price in Russia. Vedomosti wrote about this with reference to Rosstat data.

So, since the beginning of the year, a kilogram of carrots has increased in price by 5%, to 56 rubles, white cabbage has become more expensive by 11%, to 44 rubles per kilo, potatoes and beef soup — by 12% each, to 41 and 553 rubles, respectively, beetroot — by 35%, to 52 rubles.

At the same time, the cost of garlic has increased most noticeably. The product immediately rose in price by 40%, to 365 rubles per kilo. At the same time, onions fell by 22% to 41 rubles.

Thus, in September, the average price increase was 10% compared to the same month last year, the Association of Retail Companies (ACORT) noted. The cost of the set was most noticeably affected by the rise in price of vegetables, the organization stressed.

It should be noted that in the spring of this year, part of the harvest in Russia died due to frosts. Some producers of cherries, plums and apples from the Rostov region reported the complete destruction of their products.

Recall that in early July, Rusprodsoyuz announced that fruits and vegetables had risen in price in the country this summer, despite the seasonality. According to the organization, at that time beetroot added 92.3% in price, up to 70 rubles per kilogram, carrots — 62.8%, also up to 70 rubles.
