A single mobile application for digital ruble transactions may appear in Russia
November 25th. /MEDIA TALK/. The central Bank will consider the possibility of launching a single mobile application for transactions with the digital ruble. This is reported by Vedomosti with reference to data from the Association of Banks of Russia. In October, the banking community appealed to the regulator with a proposal to optimize the costs of banks to provide infrastructure for transactions with digital rubles. It is noted that the costs for one credit institution can range from 85 to 150 million rubles, which exceeds the capabilities of small banks.

The Bank of Russia announced that it is ready to work on optimizing the architecture of the introduction of a new digital currency. Thus, the regulator will create a single certification center, and special software already developed by the Central Bank will be included in banks' mobile applications to convert transactions with the digital ruble.

Recall that from July 1, 2025, large banks will have to start carrying out operations with the new currency, and a year later other credit institutions should join them. We talked about this in more detail.
