The relevant draft law was submitted for consideration by local deputies. They offer to charge travelers 1% of the cost of accommodation per day, the minimum amount will be 100 rubles.
At the same time, the deputies proposed to oblige the owners of hotels and sanatoriums to pay this tax, and not the tourists themselves. The funds raised will be used to develop infrastructure for travelers.

By analogy with other regions, Volgograd plans to raise the tax rate later to 5% by 2029. The document says that over the past few years, the tourist flow has grown to 2.5 million people per year.
Recall that in mid-September, the Federal Tax Service began sending notifications about the need to pay tax on deposits. This year, citizens will make such payments to the country's budget for the first time.
