Argus: Russia has resumed the export of coal to China through North Korea
July 9th. /MEDIA TALK/.On Tuesday, July 9, it became known that the Russian Federation resumed the export of coal to China through North Korea. This was reported by Kommersant with reference to Argus analysts.

Experts explained that in April and May 2024, Russian exporters shipped 132 thousand tons of coal to China through Rajin, the North Korean port.

The last time this method of delivering solid fuels to China was reported in 2021. A few years earlier, it was reported that Russian exporters avoided the route that includes the DPRK due to fears of American sanctions.

Recall that in mid-June, President Vladimir Putin paid an official visit to North Korea. Ahead of the trip, he promised to deepen ties with the DPRK in the areas of trade and security.
