Auchan does not intend to leave Russia
January 27. /MEDIA TALK/. Auchan Trading Company has denied reports of plans to sell its assets and will continue its operations in Russia. This is reported by TASS with reference to Agence France-Presse.

The organization explained that they do not comment on unverified information and will continue to conduct business and do their job. According to France-Presse, the Russian division of the Auchan retail chain has 230 outlets employing approximately 30,000 employees.

In October last year, information appeared about the plans of Lenta and X5 Group to buy out Auchan's business in Russia. Auchan is a global company of French origin. The first store in Russia was opened in 2002 in Mytishchi near Moscow. In April 2024, the chain's subsidiary sold its business and formally all assets belong to the Russian owner.
