The profile organization "AB-Center" added that in June 2024, the cost of flour in the Russian Federation exceeded the values of the same month in 2023. According to Rosstat, the wholesale cost of the product increased by 20%, to 22,535 rubles per ton.
Market experts noted that in May, flour in the bakery market rose in price by 4-5 rubles per kilogram at once, by mid-June the increase reached 30% relative to the beginning of the month. After that, the price increase stopped and only by the end of July there was a downward shift.
Experts explained that the cost of flour correlates with the price of grain, and therefore the price increase occurred at the end of the grain year. In 2024, a record crop harvest is not expected, but the result will still exceed the domestic needs of the country.
Recall that in mid-July it was reported that the FAS will check the validity of flour prices in Russia. To do this, the agency sent requests to 19 of the largest manufacturers of this product in the country.
