Banks began to test their systems more often for resistance to DDoS attacks
December 18th. /MEDIA TALK/. From August to November 2024, the interest of Russian financial institutions in assessing the resilience of their information systems to DDoS attacks increased threefold compared to the same period in 2023. Vedomosti writes about this today.

The greatest interest in the inspections was demonstrated by large and medium-sized banks, which sought to more effectively resist the massive DDoS attacks that hit the Russian financial sector in the summer of 2024.

Mobile applications and electronic banking have become the main objects of protection against cyber threats, since it is through them that the key interaction between users and banks takes place.

In the process of security verification, expert centers and cyber defense laboratories simulate various attacks on the DNS servers of financial institutions, try to penetrate the system and develop scenarios of possible cyber incidents. The tests enable banks to confirm the stability of their security systems, as well as provide detailed protocols and primary statistical data for further improvement of data protection mechanisms.

We recently told you that the number of cyber attacks on the websites of major grocery retailers has increased by 80% this year.
