Bashkiria's forests helped replenish the Russian budget by 900 million rubles in 2024. At the same time, the regional treasury will be replenished by 400 million rubles, said Marat Sharafutdinov, head of the Ministry of Forestry of the republic.
According to the minister, the plan has been exceeded, and the growth was about 20% compared to 2023.

Marat Sharafutdinov also said that the business has reduced the lease of forest plots in Bashkiria. In 2024, about 1 million cubic meters of wood were put up for auction in the region, and less than a third of this volume was sold. Before the sanctions were imposed, many companies exported products. At the moment, logistics routes are being rebuilt, delivery and payment deadlines are changing.
Currently, there are 2,500 forest lease contracts in Bashkortostan. Of these, 83 were contracted for tourism activities. The second most popular business in the rental sector is beekeeping. Most of the land is rented by loggers. They account for 1.5 million hectares of forest. Over the course of 5 years, 80,000 hectares of forest have been restored in the republic, RBC reports.
