Analysts also added that in the second quarter of 2025, it is possible to reduce the rate to 16%, and then to 12% by the end of the year. At the same time, economists had previously predicted an easing of the regulator's monetary policy as early as 2024.

It should be noted that at the last meeting, the Central Bank gave the market a signal about the possibility of an additional increase in the key rate in the second half of this year.
The inflation forecast has also been updated. The rate of price growth is expected to be 6.5-7% (in April it was 4.3-4.8%).
Recall, the day before, the chairman of the Central Bank, Elvira Nabiullina, said that mortgage rates in Russia will go down after inflation decreases. She stressed that slowing down the growth rate of prices for goods and services is the goal of the financial regulator's policy.
