China has become Moscow's key partner in terms of trade turnover with the BRICS countries

September 9th. /MEDIA TALK/. On Monday, September 9, it became known that in the six months since the beginning of 2024, China accounted for more than 70% of Moscow's trade turnover with the BRICS countries. This was told by the Deputy mayor of the capital for transport Maxim Liksutov.

Thus, China has become a key partner of the city in this indicator among the countries of the international association. Liksutov stressed that the total volume of mutual trade between Moscow and the BRICS members increased by almost 15%.

The deputy mayor added that the city sends high-tech equipment, machine parts, chemical industry products, as well as sweets, bakery products and much more to its partners.

Recall that in mid-July, the speaker of the Federation Council, Valentina Matvienko, announced the possible creation of a digital payment system in BRICS. The head of the upper house of Parliament clarified that the Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank, together with partners, are preparing a report on this topic.
