Chinese cars have occupied 60% of the Russian market

December 13th. /MEDIA TALK/. An analysis of data from January to November 2024, conducted by analysts of Autostat Info, showed an 80% increase in sales of Chinese cars in Russia, Kommersant writes. Their share in the Russian market was almost 60%. At the beginning of 2022, this percentage accounted for about a tenth of all sales. During this period, 848 thousand passenger vehicles from China were sold.

The number of Chinese brands present in the Russian automotive market has increased: if in 2023 there were 29 of them, by the end of 2024 the number reached 60. According to Autostat, over 100 new models have been presented to date. The lines were updated, in particular, by Haval, Chery, Geely, Dongfeng, Tank, GAC, Omoda, BAIC, JAC, Hongqi and Exeed.
