Coffee prices may rise by 25% in Russia
January 8th. /MEDIA TALK/. Fans of the fragrant drink are predicted to have a difficult year.

Anton Trenin, an expert at the ACRA credit rating agency, said that in 2025, the cost of coffee could increase by about 25%. Coffee shops are likely to try to stretch the increase over time.

The price increase is due to both low yields due to bad weather and an increase in the purchase price of raw materials, including coffee beans. Previously, coffee shops in such situations mixed Arabica with more affordable robusta, which is not so susceptible to price changes.

According to the expert, it has been a difficult year for coffee lovers, and the cost of beans on stock exchanges has broken records. Market participants have some reserves, which will smooth out the rise in price. At the same time, analysts predict a possible reduction in consumption of the aromatic drink.

The problem of rising prices has affected not only coffee, but also chocolate. In 2023, the cost of cocoa beans began to rise. Since then, prices have tripled. The peak increase in the cost of chocolate is expected to be in the fall, Kommersant reports.
