Confectionery manufacturers raise prices by almost 30%

Kommersant writes about this today with reference to the appeals of product manufacturers to retailers. Six leading suppliers have already reported price increases over the past month.

Konfesta manufacturing company, in its appeal to retail chains, reports a 28% increase in costs from September to December. Coconut chips rose in price by 60%, lecithin - by 53%, and the cost of sunflower oil increased by 27%. Slavyanka points to an increase in prices for cocoa beans since August by more than 30% and for confectionery oils - over 20%. Udarnitsa notes an increase in the cost of applesauce since April by 43% and molasses by 28%.

Kolomenskoye was informed that the shares of confectionery fats account for half of the cost of waffle production, and their key component, palm oil, has increased in price by 40% over the past six months. Manufacturers are facing rising logistical costs, increased labor costs, as well as the negative impact of the devaluation of the ruble.

At the same time, analysts note that the volume of sales of sweets from November 2023 to October 2024 increased by 1.8% compared to the previous 12 months in quantitative terms, and in monetary terms by 9.5%.
