Consumer lending in Russia decreased by more than 50 over the year%
January 14th. /MEDIA TALK/. According to information provided by the National Bureau of Credit Histories, the number of consumer loans received by Russians in December 2024 decreased in quantitative terms by 49.7% compared to January 2024 and reached 1.42 million. Statistics are provided by TASS.

Compared to the previous month, the number of loans decreased by 16.9%. If we consider the dynamics over the past four months, this indicator has fallen by 57.5%.

In December, the amount of loans granted amounted to 199.5 billion rubles, a decrease of 18.2% compared to November 2024. Over the past four months, the volume of consumer loans issued has decreased by 64.5%, and in 2024 it decreased by 52.4%. Experts note the impact of the Central Bank's tight monetary policy on lending rates in all sectors of the economy, and especially in the consumer sector.

Recall that since the end of July 2024, the key rate has overcome the barrier of 18% and then steadily increased. At the moment, it remains at the level of 21% per annum.
