The Deputy Prime Minister pointed out that the problem with natural gas exports to the European Union remains unresolved, despite the interest from European countries. Russia expresses its readiness to continue exporting gas through an existing pipeline through the territory of Ukraine, and is also considering the possibility of using other transportation routes.

The Deputy Prime Minister drew attention to the fact that there is a tense situation with natural gas in Europe – its reserves are 3-5% lower than the average over the past five years. He also said that the total supply of Russian gas to European countries in 2024 increased by 18-20% compared to the results of the previous year. In the first 11 months, the volume of gas supplied through pipelines and in the form of liquefied natural gas exceeds 50 billion cubic meters. Natural gas supplies from Russia to European countries occur through the transport corridors of Ukraine, as well as the Turkish Stream pipeline
. Earlier, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico stated that Ukraine's refusal to transfer Russian gas could cause significant damage to European countries.
