Flights across Russia have risen in price faster than trips abroad

The average cost of an air ticket for domestic flights increased to 17.1 thousand rubles, which is 16% more year-on-year, Kommersant reported, citing a study by T-installments.

According to OneTwoTrip, in ten months, flights across the country rose by 11.8%, to 11,400 rubles. At the same time, travel to foreign countries fell in price by 10.9% (34,500 rubles).

Dmitry Gorin, Vice President of the Russian Union of Travel Industry, noted that international destinations accounted for 28% of passenger traffic in the aviation sector, which is 8% more than a year ago. He considers the reason to be the delayed demand of Russians who have not traveled abroad since pre-crisis 2019.

Recall that in early autumn it became known that air tickets in Tatarstan had risen sharply in price. In 2024, air travel in the republic increased in price by 71.6%.
