Game consoles will be included in the EU sanctions list
january 28th. /MEDIA TALK/.The import of Xbox and PlayStation consoles into the Russian Federation may be prohibited as part of the introduction of new restrictive measures by the European Union. This is reported by the Financial Times, with reference to a statement by the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Kai Kallas.

Kallas claims that in Russia the devices are used to control drones. The sanctions list will include the supply of certain chemicals, as well as restrictions on the import of liquefied natural gas from the Russian Federation. The European Union intends to adopt a new, sixteenth package of sanctions on February 22.

All the leading manufacturers of video game consoles, such as Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo, stopped selling products in Russia after the start of the military operation in Ukraine in 2022. Their goods enter the country through parallel import channels.
