In 2024, almost a trillion rubles from the National Welfare Fund were allocated for the implementation of infrastructure projects, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said in an interview with Rossiya 24 TV channel. In particular, the funds were used to finance developments in the field of aircraft construction, and the creation of a gas processing and liquefaction complex in Ust-Luga was funded. Next year, the National Welfare Fund has allocated 300 billion rubles to support the Moscow-St. Petersburg high-speed highway construction project.

The size of the National Welfare Fund as of December 1 was 13.097 trillion rubles (which corresponds to the amount of $121.558 billion US dollars) and amounted to 6.8 percent of the gross domestic product. According to forecasts of the financial department, the size of the fund by the end of 2024 may reach 11.055 trillion rubles, which is 5.6 percent of the gross domestic product. The fund's resources are expected to be used in the amount of 1.3 trillion rubles.
