In July, EU countries increased imports of Russian LNG to the maximum since February 2024
September 18th. /MEDIA TALK/. On Tuesday, September 17, it became known that in July, the EU countries increased LNG imports from Russia to the maximum since February this year. The result amounted to 565.7 million euros, RIA Novosti reported, citing data from Eurostat.

Spain became the main buyer of liquefied hydrocarbons. Purchases of Russian LNG by the kingdom jumped 2.3 times, to almost 241 million euros.

On a monthly and annual basis, the July EU result increased by about 13.5%.

Recall that last week, European Commissioner Kadri Simson said that European organizations will continue to purchase Russian gas until it is prohibited by sanctions. She stressed that at the moment the import of hydrocarbons from the Russian Federation is not included in the "black" lists.
