January 16. /MEDIA TALK/. On January 16, 2025, India successfully carried out an unmanned docking of space modules for the first time. Previously, only Russia, the United States and China had succeeded.

According to CNN, the successful completion of the mission has strengthened New Delhi's position as a global space power. The Indian Space Agency has named its mission the Space Docking Experiment. It assumed the launch into low-Earth orbit of two space modules, Target and Chaser, weighing approximately 220 kg each. The launch was carried out from the Satish Dhawan Space Center, located in the southern part of Andhra Pradesh, on December 30 on a PSLV launch vehicle.

In 2023, India joined the ranks of the leading powers in space exploration, becoming the fourth country to land a spacecraft on the moon.
