Kommersant: Russian electricity supplies to China have collapsed to a record level
July 30th. /MEDIA TALK/.On Tuesday, July 30, it became known that in the first half of this year, the supply of Russian electricity to China decreased record-breaking. The figures collapsed by 76% compared to January-June 2023, Kommersant reported, citing data from the Chinese customs.

The result amounted to 465 million kilowatt-hours, the total value of exports is estimated at $ 21.6 million.

The media noted that if this dynamics is maintained, by the end of the year the volume will not exceed one billion kilowatt-hours, which will be a new anti-record.

The reasons for the publication were low water content, lack of generation and high accident rates at old thermal power plants in the Far East. New power plants are needed to solve the problem, the analysts added.

Recall that in early May it was reported that in January, February and March 2024, Kazakhstan bought almost 50% of the electricity exported by Russia. The result was 977.2 million kWh.
