According to media reports, the government is considering such a step in case of further increase in diesel prices. It is assumed that the ban will apply to refineries and traders.

One of the sources added that such signals are now being received as a warning and there are no prerequisites for an embargo.
It should be noted that since the beginning of 2024, the cost of diesel on the stock exchange has increased by 21%, to 62 thousand rubles per ton. This is seven thousand more than in July 2023, when there was a sharp increase in fuel prices in the country against the background of its shortage.
Recall that last week the Ministry of Energy proposed to extend the ban on gasoline exports from Russia for the autumn. The agency believes that the restrictions should be in effect in September and October of this year.
