Mikhail Mishustin: mutual trade turnover between Russia and Vietnam increased by 24% in 2024
January 14th. /MEDIA TALK/. Russia is striving to strengthen economic ties with Vietnam, Mikhail Mishustin said during his official visit to the republic. Despite the difficult global situation and economic conditions, the bilateral trade turnover is constantly increasing, the head of the Russian Government emphasized. Last year, the growth was 24%, including due to the implementation of the duty-free trade agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union and Vietnam. Many joint programs are being implemented in the fields of energy, nuclear energy, manufacturing, scientific and technical sectors, culture and healthcare.

Special attention is paid to cooperation involving small and medium-sized businesses. As part of the bilateral dialogue, it is planned to develop and adopt a strategic plan for partnership between Russia and Vietnam until 2030.

We recently reported that the amount of international loans issued by Russia has reached $30 billion. Vietnam is among the largest borrowers of Russia with a debt of $1.4 billion.
