Most Russian regions have restricted alcohol sales
January 31st. /MEDIA TALK/. More than two thirds of the subjects of the Russian Federation, that is, 63 out of 89, have used their powers to restrict the work of the so-called "filling stations".

This was reported in the State Duma. The law authorizing the regions to independently set restrictions on the sale of alcohol entered into force in April 2024.

We are talking about regulating the time for the sale of alcoholic beverages in public catering establishments in residential buildings or near them. The restrictions generally apply from 8-23 p.m. to 8-11 a.m. the next day. Local legislative acts have already begun to operate in 27 regions. They will come into force in 36 territories starting from March 2025.

20 regions are going to introduce restrictions during the first quarter of 2025. Thus, 83 regions of the Russian Federation (93%) fully implement the federal powers granted to them.

Earlier, we wrote that large alcohol market chains are leaving Vologda due to restrictions on the sale of alcohol. In the region, it is allowed only on weekdays between 12:00 and 14:00.
