MTS and Megafon ordered to stop taking additional payments from residents of Crimea
October 31st. /MEDIA TALK/. On Thursday, October 31, it became known that the FAS ordered MTS and Megafon to stop charging additional funds for servicing subscribers in Crimea. This follows from the release of the service.

The department explained that in August, antitrust cases were initiated against the big three mobile operators. The reason was the failure to comply with the warning and the continued collection of surcharges from residents of the Crimean Peninsula. Such conditions are not economically supported, the FAS stressed.

Beeline did not receive the order, as it has already announced the cancellation of the markup — from January 1, 2025.

Recall that in early October, the FAS recognized an illegal increase in the cost of MTS services by 8%, which occurred in April and May of this year. It has affected more than 30 million subscribers.
