OKB: in 2024, the pace of car loans in the Russian Federation jumped by 91%
August 16th. /MEDIA TALK/.On Friday, August 16, it became known that in January-July of this year, the pace of car loans in the Russian Federation jumped almost twice compared to the same period in 2023. In total, citizens of the country took out 811.69 thousand loans for cars for a total of 1.19 trillion rubles in seven months, the United Credit Bureau reported.

The number of issues increased by 80%, the volume — by 91%. The results for July amounted to 133.38 thousand car loans worth 197.18 billion rubles (+61 and 57%, respectively).

The average car loan amount last month amounted to 1.48 million rubles, which is 0.2% less than in July last year. The loan term has increased from five years and three months to six years. The total cost of car loans in July amounted to 20.42%, in early August — 21.56%.

The Design Bureau noted that the pace of issuing loans for cars is growing due to citizens' concerns about the further rise in price of cars and loans. The process is also facilitated by an increase in the key rate and the likely indexation of the scrap collection in October.

Recall that last week it was reported that the number of people under 30 with a car loan has increased in Russia. A slight increase was also noted among Russians over 50.
