In July 2024, the EU states reduced gas consumption by 7%, but imports through pipes increased by 2% in the same month, to 13.3 billion cubic meters. The total volume of resources used in the European Union for seven months of this year decreased by 4.5% compared to the same period in 2023, to 180 billion cubic meters.
The document also says that the growth of pipeline gas supplies to the EU is due to an increase in hydrocarbon exports from Russia, as well as Azerbaijan and Norway.
Recall that last week it was reported that the volume of Russian gas sent to the European Union via the Turkish Stream increased 1.4 times. The result reached 9.26 billion cubic meters.
