Readers' interest in the Bible increased one and a half times in 2024
December 4th. /MEDIA TALK/.From January to September 2024, Bible sales increased by 52% compared to 2023, RBC reported in the book network "Read the City". The most popular among readers was the edition in the Synodal translation of 1876, republished in 2022. Its sales increased by 38% compared to 2023 and doubled from 2022. The increased demand for the Bible is also being recorded by marketplaces. For example, 94% more publications were sold on Wildberries in 2023 than in 2022, and 46% more this year than in 2023.

Experts have noted a general trend of increasing interest in religious literature since 2022, before that, a decline of 20-30% was recorded in 2019-2021. Representatives of publishing houses also note an increase in readers' interest in the topic of mysticism and esotericism.
