Red caviar may start to get cheaper after the New Year
December 18th. /MEDIA TALK/. Chairman of the Fish Union Alexander Panin believes that the cost of red caviar may decrease by about 10% after the New Year celebration. In his opinion, the stocks of products will last until the spring of 2025. Interfax journalists write about this today.

In 2024, over 25 thousand tons of caviar were produced in Russia. This has led to an unprecedented increase in its exports. 16 thousand tons of caviar remained on the domestic market, despite this, the cost remained significant.

Panin pointed out that the increase in the cost of caviar is associated with an increase in the inflation rate and the key rate. He also stressed that traders and manufacturers had "warmed up" the market. Now the cost of goods in retail reaches 13 thousand rubles per kilogram. A year ago, it was 6-8 thousand rubles.

According to Rosstat statistics, in September red caviar rose in price by 12.6%, in October - by 11.8%, in November growth slowed to 5.4%.

According to analysts at Check Index, in mid-November 2024, prices for natural red caviar increased by 36% compared to last year's level.
