Russia wants to extend the ban on rice exports until mid-2025
November 18th. /MEDIA TALK/. The ban on rice export sales is scheduled to be extended next year. The corresponding resolution of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation appeared today on the portal of draft regulatory legal acts. The current ban is in effect until the end of 2024.

It is noted that the ban will not affect the seed material. It is predicted that in 2024, the production of raw rice will reach 1.2 million tons, rice groats - 579.2 thousand tons. The ban is aimed at preventing product shortages in the domestic market and ensuring price stability. There is currently no surplus in rice production, the Ministry says.
