Russian airlines ordered to sell flights for children under 12 years of age with a 50 discount%
January 9th. /MEDIA TALK/. Starting from January 10, 2025, every Russian airline will be required to provide children under the age of 12 with a discount of half the fare on all domestic routes. This applies to all current data plans except the premium class. Roman Starovoit, the head of the Ministry of Transport, confirmed this information during his report to Vladimir Putin on the results of the work of the transport sector during the New Year holidays.

Aeroflot and Ural Airlines were among the first to announce the discount. At Aeroflot, the promotion applies to all categories of economy class tickets for Russian citizens with a departure date starting January 1, 2025, at Ural Airlines, it applies to Promo, Economy and Premium Economy fares starting January 11, 2025. From January 14, a rule will be in effect that requires airlines to place children with their relatives inside the cabin of aircraft.
