Among the factors contributing to income growth, experts interviewed by RBC noted an increase in the average cost of accommodation. Room prices have increased by 14-20%, depending on the region. The tourist flow has increased - the number of guests in collective accommodation facilities in 2024 increased by 11% compared to the previous year, reaching 85.5 million people.
Despite the growth in revenue, the hotel business faced an increase in costs. The profitability of the sector decreased to 8-12% in 2024. The main reasons were a 30% increase in staff salaries, which led to an increase in the share of labor costs to 65% of total costs. Utilities, food, and infrastructure maintenance have become more expensive.
