Russians' credit card debt increased by 2% in November%

January 10th. /MEDIA TALK/. The amount of overdue payments on bank credit cards in Russia has reached almost 1.5 trillion rubles. Such data is presented today by the RIA Novosti agency based on statistics from the Scoring Bureau of Credit histories. In November 2024, the total outstanding payments increased by 2.3% to 491 billion rubles, which, according to the organization, is a record figure for the past few years.

7.65 million cardholders had overdue payments of more than 90 days in November. In total, according to November data, citizens owned 96 million credit cards, and the total debt on them reached 4.4 trillion rubles. At the same time, in November 2024, banks issued 1.57 million new credit cards to Russian citizens, which was the lowest result in almost two years.
