Russians have become 25% less likely to pay with bank cards this fall

The volume of bank card transactions decreased by 31% from September to November this year, compared to the same period in 2023, and the number of transactions decreased by 26%. Experts call the demand for alternative payment services the main reason for the decrease in the use of bank cards. So, the popularity of banking applications is growing. The turnover of Sberpay for 3 autumn months increased by 76%, and the number of payments with its help increased by 20%.

In early September, analysts predicted an increase in the share of "non-card" payment methods to 35% of the non-cash turnover of the Russian Federation by 2026.
