Russians have become one and a half times more likely to leave a tip
January 21st. /MEDIA TALK/. According to analysts at Check Index, the largest operator of fiscal data, the OFD Platform, the amount of tips paid in Russia increased by 47% in 2024, while the average check for such payments increased by 29%.

On average, the one-time remuneration payment was 273 rubles. As for non-cash tip payments, the average payment increased by 34% to 351 rubles. The number of electronic tips increased by 27%, and the total amount increased by 61%.

Most of the "thanks" are usually given to hospitality workers – bartenders, waiters, hotel staff, as well as taxi drivers, delivery men, fitness instructors, and beauty salon specialists. On average, the tip amount was 8-10% of the receipt.
