Russians took out car loans worth 1.4 trillion rubles in 2024
August 30th. /MEDIA TALK/. On Friday, August 30, it became known that in January-July of this year, residents of Russia issued car loans worth 1.4 trillion rubles. This was reported by the National Bureau of Credit Histories.

The indicator exceeds the results of the same period last year by 106.3% or more than twice. The NBKI noted that a significant increase occurred due to a shortage of cars in the first half of 2023. In addition, in January-July of this year, a record number of car loans were issued in Russia — 961.7 thousand units.

Moscow remains the leader in terms of loans for cars — 106.14 billion rubles. The Moscow region and St. Petersburg also got into the top 3 (89.73 and 66.63 billion, respectively). Tatarstan and the Rostov region are next (62.59 and 61.78 billion rubles).

The NBKI stressed that the continued high demand for car loans is explained by citizens' concerns about the increase in rates and the rise in price of such products. The market is also stimulated by discounts and promotions from distributors.

Recall that last Tuesday it was reported that in July of this year 81.3% of car loans from Russians fell on new cars. In quantitative terms, the result was 122.3 thousand vehicles without mileage.
