"Stale" goods from marketplaces can be donated to charity
january 28th. /MEDIA TALK/. Sellers and e-commerce platforms are negotiating the transfer of unsold goods to non-profit organizations.

This is reported by Kommersant with reference to the final document of the meeting of the commission on creating conditions for self-regulation in electronic commerce under the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

According to the Association of e-Commerce Companies, the average sales period on the platforms ranges from 45 to 60 days, while goods that last more than 90 days are more difficult to sell. Such products can account for up to a third of all shipped goods and become a problem for sellers who are forced to pay for storage in marketplace warehouses instead of placing new shipments.

Handing over products to charities will free businessmen from the cost of transporting or disposing of unsold products and give them a chance to take advantage of tax preferences, experts say. It is assumed that the issue of cooperation with charitable structures and the expediency of transferring the remaining goods from the warehouses of online platforms will be studied in detail by February 20, 2025.
