According to the Vedomosti newspaper, the key factors of the price increase include rising costs for raw materials, transportation, lending and other expenses. Manufacturers also pointed to an increase in the tax burden and an increase in the cost of warehousing and transporting goods.
According to Igor Karavaev, who heads the Association of Retail Companies, the price increase will occur gradually and smoothly. This will happen due to the limitation of margins on bread varieties classified as socially significant, and joint promotional campaigns by manufacturers and retail chains.
