The average car loan size in October 2024 turned out to be the lowest in six months

November 25th. /MEDIA TALK/.According to the National Bureau of Credit Histories, in October 2024, Russians began to take out fewer car loans, as we have already discussed. The average size of such a loan has also decreased - last month it amounted to 1.4 million rubles. This is 2% less than in September, and is almost the lowest figure this year (the April value was 1.39 million rubles). The decrease looks more significant compared to October 2023, it amounted to 8.7%.

Traditionally, the largest amounts of car loans are in Moscow (1.96 million rubles), the Moscow Region (1.69 million rubles) and St. Petersburg (1.68 million rubles). The lowest rates in October were in the Orenburg (-10.5%) and Samara (-8.1%) regions, as well as in the Republic of Tatarstan (-7.7%).

The NCBI noted that in general, in 2024, the average size of a car loan is at a fairly stable level in the range of 1.40 - 1.50 million rubles. In many ways, the reason for this is the various promotions of car dealers and subsidized rates of automakers.
