The average repayment period of mortgage loans has decreased in Russia
February 17th. /MEDIA TALK/.According to the United Credit Bureau, the duration of the mortgage loan issued in January 2025 was 20 years and 4 months, which is 1 year and 4 months less than in January 2024.

At the same time, the average loan period for new homes increased to 25 years and 11 months (1 year and 7 months more than last year), while for properties on the secondary market decreased to 18 years and 6 months, 2 years less than in 2023. The information is provided by RBC.

The differences between the regions are also significant: Ingushetia and Chechnya have the longest periods of 27 years and 3 months, while Altai has the shortest periods of 14 years and 11 months. In Moscow, the average term of a housing loan is 22 years and 2 months, and in the Northern capital — 20 years and 9 months.

The average amount of housing loans in January 2025 amounted to 3.92 million rubles, a decrease of 3% compared to last year. At the same time, the cost of loans for the purchase of new apartments increased to 5.62 million rubles, while for the purchase of housing on the secondary market decreased to 2.53 million rubles.
