The Central Bank plans to start mass implementation of the digital ruble from July 2025

July 30th. /MEDIA TALK/.On Tuesday, July 30, it became known that the Central Bank plans to begin the introduction of the digital ruble in July next year. This was stated by the head of the Bank of Russia Elvira Nabiullina at a speech in the SF.

The introduction of a new type of money next year will be possible if it is successfully tested, she noted.

Nabiullina added that the Central Bank is focusing on the summer of 2025, but the process will be gradual.

Recall that in mid-July, President Vladimir Putin announced the need to introduce a digital ruble. This type of currency should be used in the economic activity and finance of the country, he said.
