The extension of the maternity capital program until 2030 was supported in the State Duma

The State Duma adopted in the first reading amendments to the law on the preservation of the maternity capital program for another four–year period - until December 31, 2030. President Vladimir Putin took the initiative to extend the program of assistance to families with children in his address to the Federal Assembly in March 2024.

According to the Government's assessment, if the program continues to operate, approximately 5 million families will be provided with the opportunity to receive maternity capital in the period from 2027 to 2030. During this period, it will be necessary to allocate about 2.78 trillion rubles from the federal budget for payments.

Starting from February 2025, the amount of maternity capital will be increased by 7.3%. The amount of the allowance for the first-born child, born or adopted no earlier than January 1, 2020, will be equal to 676,398.58 rubles. The amount of maternity capital for the second and subsequent child born or adopted after January 1, 2020 will amount to 893,835.55 rubles, if they did not receive the certificate earlier. According to the Ministry of Labor, more than a million citizens can use the maternity capital in 2025.
