During 2024, 1.64 million car loans were provided, thus, in quantitative terms, the growth also amounted to 58.3% per year. In 2023, 1.04 million car loans were issued. The top three in terms of car loans in the Russian regions in 2024 included Moscow with an indicator of 183.2 billion rubles, the Moscow region (153.3 billion rubles) and St. Petersburg (115.2 billion rubles).

Experts note that the result was largely achieved due to the low base of last year, due todue to the lack of new cars in 2023. At the same time, interest in car loans at the beginning of last year was significantly stimulated by special offers and discounts from dealerships, subsidized interest rates from automakers, as well as the general level of consumer activity of the population. At the same time, it is important to emphasize that after the unprecedented figures of March-June 2024, in the period from July to September, the number and amount of loans granted for cars decreased significantly, the NBKI noted.
Recall that on October 1, the recycling fee for imported cars increased by about 70%, after which sales of new and used passenger cars in October decreased by 35% compared to September.
