The launch of production of Aurus cars in St. Petersburg is postponed
November 27th. /MEDIA TALK/.The launch of production of Aurus cars at the plant in Shushary, previously owned by Toyota, will not happen until the end of the year. Alexey Yakovlev, Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Industrial Policy, Innovation and Trade of St. Petersburg, told reporters about this at the Russian Industrialist forum, Interfax quotes him as saying.

The cooperation agreement between St. Petersburg and Aurus LLC was signed at SPIEF 2024. With the departure of Toyota from Russia, the former plant in Shushary was transferred to the structure of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of FSUE NAMI. According to Interfax, the share of FSUE in the Aurus structure is 63.5%, another 36% belongs to the Arab fund Tawazun and 0.5% to Hit Motors Rus LLC. The production planned to produce a wide range of cars together with foreign partners. It was expected that the plant would produce at least 4 car models.

In May, Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov announced plans to bring Russian Aurus to the Chinese market.
