The Moldovan government will appeal to the Parliament of the republic with a request to declare a state of emergency in connection with the situation in the energy sector from December 16, 2024. This is reported by Vocea Basarabiei radio station. According to Prime Minister Dorin Rechan, urgent measures must be taken due to the upcoming cessation of fuel transit through Ukraine.

The introduction of an emergency is necessary to minimize the possible consequences of the crisis and provide citizens with electricity, the Prime Minister of the republic believes. Earlier, Moldova discussed the organization of an alternative route for Russian gas supplies with the Russian and Ukrainian sides.
