The new contactless payment service may become available to Alfa-Bank customers

November 26th. /MEDIA TALK/. Alfa-Bank is going to introduce into its services a new contactless payment tool created by the National Payment Card System. TASS writes about this today with reference to the bank's press service. According to a representative of the credit institution, the management is considering the possibility of using the "Wave" for iOS devices instead of the unavailable Apple Pay. At the moment, it is necessary to determine the technical requirements for the system. As soon as the NSPK provides the characteristics to the banks, they will be able to determine the costs of implementation and the timing of the launch of the service.

In October, the head of the NSPK Dmitry Dubynin announced the upcoming testing of the Bluetooth-based contactless payment system Volna, which is planned to be conducted jointly with 20 Russian banks.

We recently wrote that the share of non-card payment methods may take up 35% of the non-cash turnover of the Russian Federation in 2024. They include payment via the SBP and payment services of banks.
